Provided is a work origin setting method in a complex working apparatus capable of water-jet working and wire-discharge working.The work origin setting method comprises the step of fixing a measurement block in the composite working apparatus, the step of measuring the X-machine coordinate of a jet nozzle (14) positioned at a first reference position on the measurement block thereby to acquire a first measurement value, the step of measuring the x-machine coordinate of the upper wire guide positioned at the first reference position thereby to acquire a second measurement value, the step of subtracting the second measurement value from the first measurement value thereby to determine a deviation (L), the step of fixing a work (7), the step of measuring the x-machine coordinate of the upper wire guide positioned at a second reference position (7b) on the work thereby to acquire a work origin on the x-axis, and the step of adding the deviation (L) to the work origin on the x-axis thereby to determine the work origin on the X-axis.
