PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate redundant constitution by optimizing allocation of function of a write control IC. SOLUTION: A control circuit is constituted of: an engine control IC (CPU) 32 controlling the entire image forming apparatus; an image processing IC 23; write control parts 40K, 40Y, 40C and 40M provided for every color of K, Y, C and M; and LD driver ICs 28 to 31 controlled by the respective write control parts 40K, 40Y, 40C and 40M. Control information is output from the engine control CPU 32 to the respective LD driver ICs 28 to 31 and the write control parts 40K, 40Y, 40C and 40M for respective colors. Read information is input in the image processing IC 23 from a scanner 21 and printing information is input in the image processing IC 23 from a printer driver 22. The write control parts 40C, 40M, 40Y and 40K for four colors CMYK have different constitution respectively, and have a write control part dedicated to each color independently.
