PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve access performance by preventing an erroneous operation caused by the detection output of a shock sensor. SOLUTION: A write inhibit section 50 inhibits writing in a medium by a head for time corresponding to vibration disappearance when a detection signal is obtained from a shock sensor 46 for detecting and outputting shocks applied to the device. A determination section 52 determines the detection output of the shock sensor 46 by shocks or the erroneous detection output of the shock sensor by power supply fluctuation while writing is inhibited. A sensitivity control section 54 increases the detection sensitivity of the shock sensor 46 when the determination section 52 determines the detection output by the shocks, and reduces the detection sensitivity of the shock sensor 46 and releases the write inhibition when the determination section 52 determines the erroneous detection output by the power supply fluctuation.
