PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a server capable of authenticating a user from any server on a network even without a dedicated server for managing user information, a composite multifunctional terminal and a user authenticating method. SOLUTION: The server has an input means for inputting user information, a first registering means for registering the user information inputted by the input means and server identification information allocated uniquely to the server, a transmitting means for transmitting the user information and the server identification information registered by the first registering means to other servers through the network, a receiving means for receiving user information and server identification information transmitted from the other servers, a second registering means for registering the user information and the server identification information received by the receiving means, and an authenticating means for authenticating the user on the basis of the user information and the server information registered by the first registering means or the second registering means.
