PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a computer network system provided with a network login function comprising an overlay function of executing overlay display on data (image data) of a file in an arbitrary remotely logged-in PC by a specific PC to realize the overlay function capable of storing data synthesized with an image by the specific PC. SOLUTION: The overlay method for executing overlay on the screen of an editing computer in the computer network system constituted of connecting the editing computer provided with the network login function and at least one logged-in computer through a communication network comprises: a step for logging in an arbitrary logged-in computer from the editing computer; a step for displaying image data obtained by accessing resources of the arbitrary logged-in computer from the editing computer on the display part of the editing computer; and a step for overlaying data on the display part of the editing computer.
