PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a record of high-resolution image data at a high speed with a recorder using an inkjet head. SOLUTION: The recorder is equipped with a detection means for detecting the position of a recording head, a first storage means for preserving recording data, a second storage means for reading data from the first storage means and for preserving the data for two or more columns and a formation means for reading data from the second storage means according to signals outputted from the detection means and for forming the drive signal of the recording head. The recorder performs controlling for storing the data in the second storage means and for reading them according to the amount of gaps between nozzle arrays. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
