A parking lot security management system using a vehicle detection and recording function, and a parking lot managing method are provided to enable a user to obtain a vacant parking position by using a monitoring camera and a number plate recognition camera. A parking lot is divided into sectors which include plural parking areas. A camera(10) pictures the parking areas in the respective sectors. A vacancy display unit is mounted on the camera to display a vacant state of the parking area. A record/play unit stores and displays the image from the camera. A controller determines whether a specific vehicle(100) is vacant from the image from the camera or the record/play unit and displays a vacant sign on the vehicle. A display is connected to the controller and displays the camera image and a control state thereof. Plural number plate recognition cameras(60,60') are arranged on a moving pathway(220) in the parking lot. A monitoring CCTV(Closed Circuit TV) camera(61) pictures a moving path for a driver and a visitor. An internal CCTV camera(62) is installed on the moving pathway. |
