PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effective improve deterioration of display quality in a non-scanning period. SOLUTION: Used is an active matrix type liquid crystal panel 10 which has many pixel electrodes formed in matrix on an internal surface of one substrate 11 holding a liquid crystal layer, includes a scanning signal line 15 and a data signal line 16 crossing each other and a TFT 17 turned on/off with a scanning signal of the scanning signal line 15 to apply the voltage of the data signal line 16 crossing the scanning signal line 15 to a corresponding pixel electrode 14 when turned on between pixel electrodes 14, and also has a counter electrode 18 formed on an internal surface of the other substrate. After a scanning period wherein a scanning signal generating circuit 30 applies a sequential scanning signal to scanning signal lines 15 to scan respective pixel electrodes 14, a data signal generating circuit 40 applies a voltage higher than a critical voltage at which liquid crystal molecules of a liquid crystal layer being to migrate to between each data signal line 16 and the counter electrode 18 during a non-scanning peroid up to a next scanning period.
