<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide toner having a small particle size, an image forming method and an image forming apparatus capable of stably forming an image of high resolution. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: a developing roller that conveys the toner having a volume average particle diameter of 2 μm to less than 4 μm, with a ratio of the volume average particle diameter to the number average particle diameter ranging from 1 to 1.1, and the toner partially aggregated by adding carnauba wax or rice wax by 1 to 5 mass% and adding silicone oil or fluorine oil by 0.05 mass% to less than 2 mass%; and a developing means to which an AC superposed voltage is applied, including a spacer which is disposed on a developing roller 101, outside the toner conveying face in the axis direction, which is made of a member exhibiting a larger swelling amount by moisture absorption than that of the surface structural member of the developing roller, and which is brought into contact with a photoreceptor to determine a development gap. An exposure means for the photoreceptor includes a lens array that images light beams emitting from a plurality of light emitting elements through one lens of the array onto the photoreceptor and that has a plurality of lens lines extended in the main scanning direction, forming an exposure spot of a diameter of 15 to 40 μm on the photoreceptor. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
