摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a practical ultrashort pulse light source which is highly stabilized, miniaturized, highly operable, low in price, and high in peak power. <P>SOLUTION: The semiconductor ultrashort pulse light source includes a single vertical mode semiconductor laser 10, an electric pulse generator 20 for obtaining optical pulse by driving the single vertical mode semiconductor laser 10 through a gain switch and at least one set of optical amplifier 50 for amplifying the generated optical pulse. Further, it includes a pulse compressor 30 for compressing the pulse by compensating the down chirp of the optical pulse generated from the single vertical mode semiconductor laser 10 and a waveform shaper 40 for removing spontaneous emission optical noise included in the compressed pulse and pedestal constituent between the single vertical mode semiconductor laser 10 and the optical amplifier 50 while connecting all of the single vertical mode semiconductor laser 10, the pulse compressor 30, the waveform shaper 40, and the optical amplifier 50 through optical fibers 60. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p>
