A method for providing internet TV information to a broadcasting receiver and a broadcasting receiver adopting the method thereof are provided to determine whether a user views a broadcasting program, is provided from the internet TV, or a broadcasting program, received through a tuner, by outputting information to a display unit through OSD. The title information of a broadcasting program is determined by parsing PSIP(Program and System Information Protocol) information of the broadcasting program received to a tuner(S202). It determines whether to connect the internet TV of a broadcasting receiver(S203). It determines whether the title information is included in the program list of the internet TV(S204). A display unit outputs a user interface which informs that the broadcasting program is provided from the internet TV(S205).
