PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device for surely peeling the whole of a paper from a fixing roller and conveying the paper and an image forming apparatus equipped with the fixing device. SOLUTION: The fixing device is provided with three peeling pawls 42a, 42b and 42c arranged in the width direction D of the paper with respect to a fixing roller 28, wherein contact portions of the peeling pawls 42a and 42c at both end portions are set to project from the side edge portions of the paper. The conveyed paper is therefore surely peeled from its side edge portions by the peeling pawls to prevent the side edge portions of the paper from being bent due to contact with a rib.
