Cooled railway brake disc mounting - with radial peripheral cams housing bolts anchored in ring on undrilled wheel

On high-speed trains, where excessive expansion of brake discs caused by overheating is to be prevented, the discs are mounted on the wheel without the wheel being pierced, and with cooling fins running radially on the rear side, which are supported by means of cams. These are radially distributed on the outside edge of the brake discs, with bolts or screws lying in them, pref. in a radially fitted slit, on an axis-parallel setting for transmission of braking forces, a ring for anchorage of the bolts or screws being provided on the wheel. There are also elements for axially securing the brake discs. Mounting of brake discs is simplified, without weakening the wheel in any way.
