A surface treating method using a slag is provided to remove concern about environment destruction and contamination and reduce dust generation rate. A surface treating method using a slag comprises a step of pulverizing slag into regular size and forming the pulverized material; a step(S3) of sorting the pulverized material according to size; and a step of spraying the pulverized material on the surface of steel structure or a ship and then peeling rust or paint on them. The sorting step removes ones exceeding a specific size. The pulverizing step pulverizes slags such as steel-manufacturing slag or blast furnace slag with a pulverizing device.
