<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a compact identification device, resistant to external light without stress to a user in imaging a finger blood vessel pattern by transmitted light. <P>SOLUTION: This personal identification device includes: a guide part 118 for locating the finger position; a light source 114 provided on one or both sides of the guide part to apply transmitted light passing through the fingers; an imaging part 112 for imaging the transmitted light; and a shielding means 116 for limiting the illuminating region of light radiated from the light source. Further the device includes a means for measuring the thickness of the fingers and a means for controlling the quantity of light of the light source based on the measurement result. Further the device includes a recording means for recording the registration imaging pattern of a plurality of fingers, a checking means for checking the imaging pattern of the imaging part with the registration pattern; and a control means for controlling the processing different with the checking result. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
