<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an original reader which prevents lowering of contact between an original cover member and an original while the original is pressed by an original cover, can release the contact between the original cover member and an original platen when opening the original cover, improves operability without hindering original placing operation and besides makes the image quality of a read image uniform, and an image forming apparatus using the same. <P>SOLUTION: The original reader 1A2 includes the original platen 21 and the original cover 1A31 pressing an original on the original platen 21, and holds the original placed on the original platen 21 by covering it with the original cover 1A31. The original cover 1A31 includes a sheet type pressing member 1A32 covering the original placed on the original platen 21, and an original cover member deforming mechanism 1A33 forming a rugged part on the surface of the sheet type pressing member 1A32 from the back side on an opposite side to the original through the sheet type pressing member 1A32. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
