PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely carry out reserved video recording even in the case that a personal computer (PC) is powered off during a reserved video recording standby state and reserved video recording of a television program can not be performed. SOLUTION: The present invention relates to a television program recording method in a PC 20 having a reserved video-recording setting program for video-recording a television signal and in an external storage control device 10 which is connected to the PC 20 and transmits/receives data, wherein reserved video-recording information set by the PC is stored in a memory unit 13 of the external storage control device 10. Furthermore, in accordance with the reserved video-recording information stored in the memory unit 13, it is controlled whether a video-recording control unit 12 of the external storage control device 10 stores a television signal on a storage medium 21 of the PC 20 or on a storage medium 11 of the external storage control device 10.
