PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To let a user know the timing when any empty space of a recording medium is exhausted. SOLUTION: A use history management device 22 stores a user period, a data recording period to an HDD 20, and the total recording data quantity of the HDD 20 in a use history memory 24 as use history information. When the power source of the device is turned on, a use history management device 22 reads the history information from the use history memory 24, and predicts a period when the residual capacity of the HDD 20 is turned into a fixed value or less, that is, a deletion period when the recording data should be deleted from the HDD 20 by the prediction formula of linear regression. The use history management device 22 transmits the predicted deletion period to a warning display picture generation device 26. The warning display picture generation device 26 generates notification picture data with which the user is notified of the deletion period from the use history management device 22, and outputs it to an OSD composition device 32.
