Non-volatile memory with rotating auxiliary sectors

The method involves providing non-volatile main and auxiliary memory areas (MA, XA) with respective target and auxiliary pages, in a non volatile memory e.g. flash memory. A current sector (CUR) with erased auxiliary pages to write data, an erase main sector (ERM), a copy to main sector (CTM), and an unavailable sector (UNA) with auxiliary pages to be erased, are provided in the area (XA). The sector (ERM) has auxiliary pages attached to target pages to be erased, and the sector (CTM) has auxiliary pages with data transferred in the erased target pages.
