<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus where an opening part formed in the body so as to insert a cable for electrically connecting its body to an optional device therethrough is covered with a cover, and the cover is used in stabilizing the combined state of the body, using the optional device. <P>SOLUTION: The body 10 of the image forming apparatus 1 is usable, while being placed on the optional device 20. The opening part 15 where the cable for electrically connecting the body to the option device 20 is inserted is formed in the bottom surface of the body 10, and the cover 16 made of a metal plate is combined with the opening 15. The cover 16 is formed into an L-shaped cross section. In the single use of the body 10, the cover 16 is fixed by a screw 17, while bringing the short side 16b thereof into contact with the side surface of the body 10 and covering the opening part 15 with the long side 16a thereof. When the body 10 is to be mounted on the option device 20, the cover 16 is fixed by the screw 17, while making the long side 16a come into contact with the side surface of the body 10 and making the short side 16b engage with the optional device 20. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
