PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To identify between a template image and a target image even when magnifying/reducing, rotating and moving a photographic subject in parallel, and to estimate a magnification ratio or a rotation angle of the photographic subject. SOLUTION: For each of the template image and the target image, an LACR domain is generated, and phase-only correlation is applied to the LACR domains. Thereby, the magnification ratio and the rotation angle between both the images (i.e., between the photographic subjects) can be estimated. Here, the LACR domain for each of both the images is generated by (a) generating a Radon domain by Radon-transforming the image, (b) calculating autocorrelation in the radial direction in the Radon domain, (c) logarithmizing a radial axis in the autocorrelation of the Radon domain, and (d) calculating a difference in the radial direction of the autocorrelation. By comparing LACR autocorrelation domains generated by the autocorrelation of the LACR domains, the images can be identified. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
