PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lamp capable of suppressing blackening of an end of a bulb caused by increase of an air volume of forced air cooling without changing the total length of the lamp nor applying a heat insulating material, extended in a lamp life, and stabilized in an optical characteristic. SOLUTION: In this high-pressure discharge lamp, a reflecting plate is arranged between an electrode in an arc tube sealing part and metal foil with the electrode attached thereto, and light emitted from the bulb is reflected by the reflecting plate, whereby the long-life lamp capable of raising the temperature at an end of the bulb in the vicinity of the sealing part without shading effective light emitted from the bulb, and of suppressing blackening by temperature drop in forced air cooling can be provided.
