FRAME REPEATING DEVICE AND COMMUNICATION NETWORK SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To update communication path information that each L3 switch has and to switch communication to communication using a communication line of another system if a network configuration including communication lines of a plurality of systems including L2 switches and L3 switches is shut down owing to a fault occurring in one communication line.

SOLUTION: The L2 switches are so constituted that an ARP request frame for solving the MAC address of a host as a target is periodically transmitted and when an ARP reply frame is received from the host, a destination MAC address of the ARP reply frame is converted into a broadcast address and transmitted to an interface other than the interface having received the ARP reply frame.
