PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a receiver control system capable of controlling a receiver in accordance with the position or status of a viewer. SOLUTION: A receiver control system comprises: a viewer position detecting means 9 for detecting the position of a viewer in a viewable area of a receiver B, a viewer status detecting means 10 for detecting the status of the viewer detected by the viewer position detecting means 9; and a receiver control means 11 for controlling the receiver B on the basis of at least one of either position information of the viewer detected by the viewer position detecting means 9 or status information of the viewer detected by the viewer status detecting means 10.
