PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a curable silicone remarkably reduced in the content of the chlorine component, which is an impurity inducing the degradation of optical devices such as corrosion and yellowing, and provide its synthetic method. SOLUTION: In the silicone synthesizing method that synthesizes a silicone by hydrolysis and condensation of an alkoxy silicone compound, the alkoxy silicone compound is used as the raw material, the alkoxy silicone compound is hydrolyzed and condensed by a basic catalyst, and then the synthetic reaction solution is neutralized by carbon dioxide to obtain the curable silicone. Since carbon dioxide is used as a neutralizer, the content of the chlorine component that is the impurity can be reduced remarkably. The neutralization by carbon dioxide is preferably conducted by blowing carbon dioxide gas into the synthetic reaction solution because this method is simple. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
