APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR GENERATING QUALITY OF SERVICE PARAMETER ABOUT MAC LAYER IN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

An apparatus and a method for generating a quality of service parameter for an MAC(Media Access Control) layer in a communication system are provided to generate a service flow based on a traffic change or an error of a communication network by generating of a quality of service parameter of the MAC layer using the quality of service parameter of an application layer. An apparatus for generating a quality of service parameter for an MAC layer in a communication system includes a classifier(202), a reader(204), and a generator(206). The classifier classifies a message including quality of service information of an application layer of packets inputted from an upper layer. The reader confirms a quality of service parameter of the application layer through the message. The generator generates the quality of service parameter of the MAC layer using the quality of service parameter of the application layer. The message is an RTCP(Real-time Transport Control Protocol) control message. The message is classified by using a port number and internet protocol header information of the packets.
