An over pressure protection hatch for buildings inside which can occur sudden pressure increases, e.g. electricity sub stations, has a venting flap hinged inside a support frame to open outwards to relive pressure peaks inside the building. The hatch is held in the closed setting by a safety catch (4) which is displaced by over pressure resulting in the release of the hatch. The catch grips the hatch tangentially w.r.t. the arc described by the hatch on opening. The release pressure is adjustable to suit the applications.
