PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device whose power consumption is low and which does not need an expensive driving circuit for image rewriting, and which is improved in portability, and a control program thereof. SOLUTION: The image display device has a projector unit which irradiates a projection surface with light of an image, optical write type electronic paper disposed as the projection surface, and a feed unit which applies voltage to the electronic paper to write the projected image to the electronic paper. The image written to the electronic paper is a white image or still image. Further, the image display device has a control unit which controls the projector unit to irradiate the electronic paper with the light of the image for a predetermined time, controls the feed unit to apply the voltage to the electronic paper, and then controls the projector unit to stop the irradiation with the light of the image.
