PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner capable of holding a vertical wind direction plate in a horizontal state without impairing appearance and being advantageous in cost. SOLUTION: An indoor air supply opening of an indoor machine body is composed of a dew receiving pan 5, a side wall of the supply opening has a supporting hole 5a for supporting the vertical wind direction plate 7, and a bearing 8 for receiving a supporting shaft 7a of the vertical wind direction plate and the supporting shaft 7a of the vertical wind direction plate 7 are inserted into the supporting hole 5a. A spring member 9 for giving rotational moment by the force of a spring 10 is attached to the supporting shaft 7a of the vertical wind direction plate 7, and the spring member 9 is fixed to an outer side of the supply opening, thus the rotational moment in the direction opposite to the rotating direction (a) by the self-weight of the vertical wind direction plate is constantly added to the supporting shaft 7a of the vertical wind direction plate 7. The distortion by the self-weight of the vertical wind direction plate can be reduced, and the vertical wind direction plate can be held in the horizontal state, the appearance is not impaired, and the cost performance can be improved in comparison with a case when both ends of the vertical wind direction plate 7 are supported by two motors.
