PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid ejecting apparatus capable of stably ejecting liquid droplets and performing high frequency drive. SOLUTION: A pressure-generating chamber 3 has a Helmholtz resonance frequency of a period Tc. A driving signal has a first signal-element S1 for causing the pressure-generating chamber 3 to expand, a second signal-element S2 for causing the pressure-generating chamber 3 in an expansion state to contract, and a third signal-element S3 for causing the pressure-generating chamber 3 to expand to an original state before outputting the first signal-element after ejecting the liquid droplets. The third signal-element has a first-step element S3a for causing the pressure-generating chamber to expand to an intermediate contracting state, which is smaller than the original state before outputting the first signal-element after ejecting the liquid droplets, and a second-step element S3b for causing the pressure-generating chamber of the intermediate contracting state to expand to the original state before outputting the first signal-element.
