The device has a sample carrier (1) for accommodating a liquid sample i.e. saliva, and a sample carrier holder (2) provided with guidance regions (4, 5) for guiding a sample carrier ejector (3). The region (4) is designed in a pipe-shape and the region (5) is designed in a nut shape. The ejector exhibits a geometry complementary to guidance regions, where the geometry includes piston and flat shaped parts with a grip region (9). The ejector is manually and axially adjustable within the holder at the grip region in such a manner that the carrier is detachable from the holder by the ejector.
