PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a method and the like for providing view selection information, other additional information and the like in which the preference of a user is revealed based on a view history of the user.

SOLUTION: A server retrieves, from a content information database, contents being viewed, etc., on the basis of a view history totalized from a certain user and further extracts a content table related to the contents being viewed, etc. The frequency of appearance of these contents is summed up by categories, by performers or by keywords. Since a category or a performer of which the frequency of appearance is highly ordered, represents a target of the preference or interest of the user, this is provided for the user as view support information or as value-added information.
