A differential signal receiving circuit and a method thereof are provided to continue a receiving operation irrespective of a squelch detection state by using a differential signal receiving circuit device. A differential signal receiving circuit includes a squelch circuit(6), a differential receiver circuit(8), a start pattern detection unit, and an end pattern detection unit. The squelch circuit detects a signal in response to a differential signal and detects a squelch state and a non-squelch state. The differential receiver circuit amplifies the differential signal and outputs binary data. The start pattern detection unit detects a start pattern determined by the binary data. The end pattern detection unit detects an end pattern determined by the binary data. When the squelch circuit detects the non-squelch state, activates the start pattern detection unit. After the start pattern detection unit detects the start pattern, a receiving operation is continuously performed by the binary data irrespective of the squelch state. When the end pattern detection unit detects the end pattern, the receiving operation is completed.
