A light emitting diode and a display apparatus having the same are provided to improve the color reproduction by mixing and arranging yellow, red, and green color fluorescent materials in the light emitting diode. A light source unit(200) includes at least one light emitting diode(210) for generating light. A display panel(300) displays an image by using the light from the light source unit. The light emitting diode includes a blue chip for generating a blue light, a case for accommodating the blue chip, a molding member for protecting the blue chip, and yellow, red, and green color fluorescent materials arranged in the molding member. The molding member is filled in the case. The light source unit includes a light guide plate for guiding the light from the light emitting diode to a direction of the display panel, an optical sheet interposed between the light guide plate and the display panel, and a reflective sheet arranged on an opposite side with respect to the optical sheet on the basis of the light guide plate.
