An image forming apparatus is provided to space a paper transfer belt from the rest photosensitive media for another color except a photosensitive medium for black color in a mono print mode, thereby reducing abrasion and/or damage of the photosensitive media and reducing abrasion of a cap maintaining ring. In the surface of plural photosensitive media(31-34) by color, visual images are formed. A paper transfer unit(35) has a paper transfer belt(35a) performing endless track movement in a state of being circumscribed with the photosensitive media. Plural transfer media(36-39) are elastically installed so as to face the photosensitive media by color as leaving a space for the paper transfer belt. A cam unit(50) moves the paper transfer unit between a first position, where the paper transfer belt is contacted with the plural photosensitive media by color, and a second position where the paper transfer unit is spaced so as to be separated from the rest photosensitive media except one photosensitive medium. A guide unit(60) guides a location of the transfer medium when moving the paper transfer unit by the cam unit.
