PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lead storage battery which can alleviate troublesome water-refilling works and also reduce the component count. SOLUTION: Water-refilling holes 2a and float seating holes 2b both in communication with the inside are formed at a location of a battery case lid 2 at the top of each cell, wherein a float 5 is seated into each of float seating holes 2b. On the top surface of the battery case lid 2, a water-refilling section S is provided which consists of circumferential flanges 2c covering the surrounding area of all the holes wholly and water stop flanges 2d for segmenting the water-refilling holes 2a and the float seating holes 2b on each cell basis, wherein openings at the top end of the circumferential flanges 2c are sealed with one water-refilling lid 4.
