摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transflective liquid crystal device for obtaining proper display by both the reflection mode and the transmission mode. <P>SOLUTION: The transflective liquid crystal device includes a pixel electrode 9, having a plurality of band-like electrodes, connected mutually electrically on the side of a liquid crystal layer 50 of a TFT array substrate 10; a common electrode 19 facing the pixel electrode 9; and an electrode part insulating film 13, interposed in between the pixel electrode 9 and the common electrode 19. The transflective liquid crystal device includes a reflective common electrode (reflection polarization layer) 19r for selectively reflected light of a prescribed polarization component of incident light in a reflection display region R; and a light-scattering means 29 for functioning the adjustment of liquid crystal layer thickness of the region, as a liquid crystal layer thickness regulation layer made to be differentiated from the liquid crystal layer thicknesses of the other regions, by scattering reflection light. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
