<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an IP multicast path control technique capable of improving operability by automatically registering a distribution server, and improving reliability of an IP network by removing a bottleneck on the path. <P>SOLUTION: When receiving a multicast packet from a distribution server 3, a distribution server accommodating router 2 notifies a distribution source database 1 about a combination of a destination IP address and a transmission source IP address described in the multicast packet as a multicast address set. If the multicast address set is notified, the database 1 registers it, and if receiving a multicast address set request designating an IP multicast address from a host 5 or a host accommodating router 4, the database 1 notifies the host 5 or the router 4 about the entire mutlicast address set corresponding to the designated IP mutlicast address. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
