<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a membrane-electrode assembly of a polymer electrolyte fuel cell preventing damage or breakage of an electrolyte membrane, having high performance, capable of miniaturizing, and to provide its manufacturing method. <P>SOLUTION: The membrane-electrode assembly of the polymer electrolyte fuel cell is formed by arranging a catalyst layer of a fuel electrode and a catalyst layer of an oxidant electrode on each side of a solid polymer electrolyte membrane, connected to the electrolyte membrane so as to overlap with the peripheral part of at least one electrode, and has a frame-shaped resin membrane 6 projected to the outside of the electrode. Proton conductive polymer layers 8, 7 are installed on the electrolyte membrane side on the surface of the catalyst layer of at least one electrode and the catalyst layer side on the surface of the frame-shaped resin membrane. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
