PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a virus collector by which a virus included in exhalation of a patient can be securely and easily collected and the collected virus is supplied as a specimen for diagnosis or study. SOLUTION: The virus collector is used for collecting a virus from exhalation of a patient infected by a virus. A body 1 of the virus collector includes an exhalation introduction part 2 to introduce exhalation of a patient, a trap part 3 to collect a virus in the exhalation of the patient, and a suction part 4 to suck a gas component included in the exhalation of the patient. The exhalation introduction part 2 has a constriction part 3d to condense and liquify steam by compressing and expanding the exhalation of the patient. A virus isolation medium is set in the trap part 3 to introduce a liquid component containing the virus discharged through the constriction part 2d thereinto. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
