PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely prevent engine failure even in a manual operation type engine. SOLUTION: The device comprises clutch state detection means SW1, SW2 and SW3 for detecting an operating state of a clutch pedal 40, and a control means 100 for determining establishment of a restart condition for the pushing of the clutch pedal 40 detected by the means SW1, SW2 and SW3, and restarting the engine. The control means 100 prohibits combustion restart when the clutch pedal 40 is pushed quickly such that a predetermined quick operation requirement is satisfied. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
