PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a torque detector capable of precisely detecting steering torque applied to a steering shaft without using a torsion bar. SOLUTION: A flat part 33 for transmitting an operation of a steering wheel 30 as a steering member of a vehicle to a steering mechanism is provided on a surface of the steering shaft 3. An under layer film 50 made of an insulating material is deposited on the flat part 33. A pair of resistors 51, 51 are formed and attached to positions of the surface of the under layer film 50 not in rotational symmetry with respect to the axial center of the steering shaft 3. The steering torque applied to the steering shaft 3 is calculated on the basis of the output of a bridge circuit including the resistors 51, 51. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
