A building includes a multiplicity of modules, each building module having an exterior shape generally of a cuboid having side, end, top and bottom faces, and fabricated from metal. Each module is hollow and defines a space of a size suitable for occupation by a person, the modules including aligned openings in adjacent walls of adjacent modules to allow a person to move from one module to another, each module including fastening elements which fasten modules to adjacent modules. The fastening elements include hollow blocks (21A to 21D) with openings through which lugs (83A to 83D) of connector elements (81) are inserted, the connector elements (81) and hollow blocks (21A to 21D) being arranged such that after the lugs (83A to 83D) of connector elements (81) have been inserted into openings in hollow blocks of adjacent modules ensuring accurate alignment of the modules, they are fastened in the openings by fasteners (92A to 92D). |
