A portable information terminal device is provided to rotate a large saw-toothed wheel by driving power of an actuator while pins installed on the same wheels move on a groove unit formed on a case of a faced surface, thereby automatically opening/closing the terminal device in sliding manner. A portable information terminal device comprises as follows. An upper case is automatically opened by rotating on a front side of a lower case. A DC(Direct Current) motor(6) which becomes a driving source of the rotation slows down by a speed reduction apparatus(7), a pinion gear(9), and a large saw-toothed wheel(10). By reducing torque applied to the DC motor, the portable information terminal device is automatically opened and closed in sliding manner.
