PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink composition for an aqueous ballpoint pen, and further in detail, writable on a non-permeable surface such as a metal, glass, a plastic material, etc., and an aqueous ballpoint pen by using the same. SOLUTION: This ink composition for the ballpoint pen, consisting of at least a surfactant, hollow resin particles, an oil droplet in water type resin emulsion and a water-soluble resin is provided by setting the solid contents of the hollow resin particles, oil droplet in water type resin emulsion and a water-soluble resin as specific ratios based on the total amount of the ink composition.
