<p>A multi-air conditioner for heating and cooling operations and a pipe investigation method for the same are provided to investigate pipes accurately and to prevent a heating error by matching any indoor unit having a temperature change with distributors, and to reduce time required to investigate pipes by investigating all pipes and indoor units at low frequency. A control unit investigates pipes for grasping a state of connection between distributors and indoor units(S100). The control unit measures an indoor temperature of each room for storing an initial temperature(S110). An outdoor unit and the indoor unit are operated in a heating mode(S120). At least one valve of the distributors is controlled to investigate the indoor units connected with each pipe of the distributors(S130). An indoor temperature of each room or a pipe temperature of each indoor unit is measured by a temperature sensor(S140). The initial temperature is compared with the measured temperature to judge whether a temperature changes in any indoor unit(S150). If so, the corresponding indoor unit is matched with each pipe of the distributor(S170). If not, an error message is outputted(S160). If pipe investigation is completed, heating operation for pipe investigation is stopped(S180,S190). Matching data according to pipe investigation between the distributors and the indoor units are stored(S200). The matching data are transmitted to each distributor through a communication unit(S210).</p> |
