PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing high-quality slaked lime slurry of a uniform particle size in high yields without loosing much quicklime. SOLUTION: The method for producing a slaked lime slurry by slaking quicklime is characterized by using the quicklime satisfying the following conditions (a) and/or (b) as an original material: (a) a quicklime which gives a slaked lime slurry containing at least 90% of slaked lime particles with particle diameter of 1-20μm when the original quicklime is simply slaked; and (b) a quick lime which gives a slaked lime slurry having a viscosity in the range of 100-500 CPS when the original quicklime is simply slaked.
