PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic carrier having preferable adhesiveness between a core material and a coating resin layer and hardly causing peeling of the resin layer, having a high charging level, charge maintaining property and environmental stability, preventing degradation in the carrier and achieving high picture quality for a long period of time. SOLUTION: The electrophotographic carrier comprises a core material and a coating resin layer covering the surface of the core material, wherein the coating resin layer contains an aromatic polycarbonate resin having a weight average molecular weight of 10,000 to 100,000 and having a structure expressed by structural formula (I) as a repeating unit, and a resin having an alicyclic group.
