PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical image diagnostic apparatus which can display an image of network structure, such as blood vessels, and an image of tissue with gradation, such as parenchymatous internal organs, in such a manner that their positional relationship can be observed accurately and is capable of obtaining quantitative parameters accurately from three-dimensional information based on an image of tissue and on an image of a structure, such as blood vessels. SOLUTION: A parenchymatous tissue image T and a blood vessel image S are synthesized and displayed as follows. First, a tomographic image T1 of a specific cross section of the parenchymatous tissue image T and the blood vessel image S closer to the viewpoint along (a proximal side) the Z-axis than the tomographic image T1 are combined and shown. Thereafter, the operator inputs specific data from an operation unit including a mouse and a keyboard, thereby changing the position of a displayed tomographic image along the Z-axis. This enables the operator to sequentially display two-dimensional tomographic images (B-mode images) constituting a three-dimensional parenchymatous tissue image as if to turn over the pages of a book.
