<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce dew formation to a detection element 15 while halted in a hydrogen detector 10. <P>SOLUTION: In the hydrogen detector 10 including: an outer tube 13 mounted to a tube body 11 for introducing gases to be measured to the inside from an end of an opening 16; and the detection element 15 mounted to the inside of the outer tube 13 for detecting hydrogen concentration in the gases to be measured, a lid 17 is mounted so as to open and close the opening 16 of the outer tube 13. The lid 17 opens and closes the opening 16 in such a way as to prevent the entry of the gases to be measured into the outer tube 13 from the opening 16 of the outer tube 13 in a closed state and enable the introduction of the gases to be measured into the outer tube 13 from the opening 16 of the outer tube 13 in an opened state.
